Right now his focus and interest include Omega-3 EPA/DHA fish oil, chia seeds, bioflavonoids (eg quercetin) and other antioxidants, and coenzyme Q10 in combat settings. He continues pioneering their use to benefit soldier health and performance. His primary interest is in nutrition, disease prevention and performance (physical and neuro-cognitive) enhancement. Dr Johnston spends some of his time away from work working with high performance/professional athletes in supplementation and teaching other physicians about the role of Omega-3 EPA/DHA and other nutraceuticals.
