Mission Statement
The Helpdesk is a branch of the Customer Support division, OCIO. The Helpdesk provides front-end IT support for the University. Our mission is to provide professional IT services to Faculty Staff and Students here at USU.
GETTING ASSISTANCE
The Helpdesk uses the Heat Self Service system to track requests. By putting in a request for service through the HSS system, you ensure your request is tracked and worked on in the timeliest manner. You also have access to your request(s), your request history (open and closed) and the HSS knowledge base.
The Helpdesk provides customer support and technical services to USU from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Support requests can be submitted to the Helpdesk online, email, telephone and walk-in. When submitting a service request, a ticket is logged into the database and immediately routed to the appropriate technical group for processing.
New to the university? You might be interested in viewing the Helpdesk Quick Reference Guide, or information on how to obtain an account.
DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORDS TO YOUR ACCOUNTS TO ANYONE! It is prohibited to give out your password for any Department of Defense computer systems. When discussing new accounts, a temporary password is always issued, and the user will be required to change it immediately. If someone should call and ask for your password, ask who they are, where they work and a number they are calling from, then notify the Helpdesk immediately. Passwords are your responsibility to keep secret and secured.
