Curriculum Reform
The university's earliest faculty developed a curriculum that advances health and science by educating and preparing students for the challenges of military medicine. This model of scholarship has produced thousands of highly skilled professionals.
In an effort to build an even better institution, the USU F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine is revising its program in response to a changing medical landscape.
The new design, called "Molecules to Military Medicine," will form a tighter link between the basic and clinical sciences while still maintaining its military blueprint throughout all four years. Students will also begin clerkships sooner under the new curriculum. This exposure strengthens medical knowledge through experience in the hospital setting.
The curriculum reform team is incorporating these objectives in planning the program best suited to the special requirements of military and public health medicine. The most current version of the proposed new curriculum can be accessed here:
